Pond Construction

By Ricki Geotti

Picture the scene there is nothing like relaxing in your garden watching your fish and taking in the sound of the flowing water. So may be it is time to bless your garden with a fantastic feature such as a pond.

Ponds are not only a great hobby but they create a tranquill environment in your garden. A pond will attract other wild life to your garden.

The choosing of the type of fish you want to stock your pond with is all part of the fun. You like many people might go for a pond full of Koi, which are great fish. If not there are plenty of others to choose from. You might not want any fish at all in your pond and a wild life pond might be your choice.

Goldfish are a worthy contenders for any pond, they come in many different forms from the fancy Oranda's, Black Moors and Comets and there are many more, right down to the common goldfish. There are a lot to checkout.

The Tench, these are great fish. They are normally greenish in colour but breeding has formed them into a golden colour and these are fairly obviously named the Golden Tench, they a beautiful with their blue grey fins and their dark red eyes.

Then we have the Golden Orfe a very active fish and one that I love. They can jump clear of the water. This very fast swimming fish is certainly a lively one to consider as an inclusion for a pond.

When you decide to plunge for a pond in your garden there is a lot of things to take into account before you start to dig. For the best result and to achieve your vision of your pond you are going to need to put together a pond plan. You need to include as many details as possible from where you think you would like your pond to go, to what sort of plants you are going to put in your pond. Will you have a waterfall or may be a fountain.

For your pond project to be the success that you want it to be, it is going to take proper research that will make up the blueprint of your pond which you will enjoy for so many years in the future. - 23802
